The Foster Care

You will provide the foster care in your home at the address at the end of this agreement, in the area segregated from your own animals or other foster animals (if advised to keep separate), subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement. Your foster care for the animal(s) will be comprised of the following: providing daily wholesome food and water; (we suggest appropriate brands), providing a clean area for elimination; providing outdoor exercise (for a dog(s) only) of not less than 3x per day; bottle feeding, if necessary; providing a warm, safe place inside your home; administering medications and supplements during pregnancy period, if any; transporting the animals to the vet, if necessary and agreed upon prior to treatment; socializing and playing, and crating the animal (s) at night for ease of transition between homes. The animal(s) may not be crated for more than (7) hours per day. The maximum total number of pets which you may have in and around your home during the foster care period is 3. NO OTHER UNNEUTERED MALES OR UNSPAYED FEMALES CAN BE OWNED DURING THE SAME TIME AS THE DURATION OF THE FOSTER CARE UNLESS OWNED BY PORTLAND POMSKIES.
The animal (s) must stay within 35 miles of Cave Creek, AZ. Any change of address must be sent to Arizona Luxury Pomskies 30 days in advance of relocation. If any relocation is required outside of Arizona, the animal(s) must come back to Arizona Luxury Pomskies. If any travel is required of the foster parent, the dog must be kenneled locally or stay with appropriate care providers and we must be able to have access to her through those providers if we need her for breeding.
You may choose a veterinary clinic that is most convenient for you. Provide the clinic information to Arizona Luxury Pomskies, as well as have Arizona Luxury Pomskies listed as an owner on the account for access if needed during an emergency. For any immediate appointments where your regular vet cannot see you, you will telephone Arizona Animal Hospital at the telephone number (480)-686-8083. In the case of an immediate emergency, the animal must go immediately to an open vet clinic such as UrgentVet
The Foster home will pay all veterinary treatment costs that are incurred for the animal(s) during the foster care. Any injuries or illnesses obtained by the dog due to neglect is the responsibility of the foster care provider. This includes, but is not limited to ingestion of toxic foods, injuries during play, or altercations with other dogs. If other arrangements to use an outside vet are agreed upon, you will give Arizona Luxury Pomskies any receipts from the Vet for the care and or medications prescribed to keep an accurate and updated file on hand.
9. The female needs to be transported to Arizona Luxury Pomskies immediately once signs of menstruations begin, this could be at a moment's notice or days advance notice based off signs leading up to cycle. Flexibility needs to be available to deliver the female for use. In the circumstance she cannot be delivered, house access must be granted to ARIZONA LUXURY POMSKIES retrieve her. Failure to deliver the female (Arizona Luxury Pomskies must arrange pick up) for use more than 2x in a calendar year could result in termination of foster contract. The female will remain with Portland Pomskies during cycle and breeding (2-3 weeks generally). She will then be here 2 weeks prior to due date and up to 6-7 weeks post birth for babies. She will then return to your home once babies are fully weaned at 8 weeks.
Heat cycles must be tracked closely! Your female’s vagina will be become very swollen and puffy. This is one of the first signs! She will lick compulsively and possibly hump other dogs. These are all signs of a heat cycle. To check for heat you will need to get a toilet paper and “dab” her vagina daily. The first sign of blood must be reported to Arizona Luxury Pomskies. Since breeding is done through artificial insemination frequently, tracking the start of a heat is CRUCIAL!
The females bodies take a HARD hit post birth. They will lose their hair and shed tremendously and be under weight. This is NORMAL. We recommend feeding 2-3 eggs each morning to help nourish their body with extra protein and speed up the recovery process.
Any and all decisions regarding the animals best interest is made solely by Arizona Luxury Pomskies during the foster contract. Further, any harm done to the foster care provider by the animal(s), or any other person, is not under liability of Arizona Luxury Pomskies. Precautions to take to avoid unnecessary risk include but is not limited to, leaving female in the car unattended, tied to a pole unattended, or left in the care of someone other than Arizona Luxury Pomskies. Failure to protect her from unnecessary risk can result in contract termination.
You agree to contact Arizona Luxury Pomskies immediately in the event that you are no longer able to provide foster care to arrange a time to bring the dog back to Arizona Luxury Pomskies. You will continue to care for the animal(s) if Arizona Luxury Pomskies is unable to come to your home to retrieve the animal(s) immediately, or until you are able to bring the animal(s) back to Arizona Luxury Pomskies.
It is the responsibility of the foster home to provide nutritious meals (such as Taste of the Wild, Blue Wilderness, Stella and Chewy, etc..) and sufficient living arrangements for the animal. This includes kibble, toys, dental chews, crate, chew toys, collars, flea treatment, leashes, etc..
If marriage or partnerships between host family breaks apart, the contract is voided and Arizona Luxury Pomskies will exercise the right to pull the dog back to the Arizona Luxury Pomskies facility or renegotiate a new contract with a member of current partnership or find a new host family for the female.
At the cease of the foster agreement where the timeline of the decision is up to Arizona Luxury Pomskies the animal will be spayed, and offered as a pet into the home of the foster family. At that point, the animal will belong entirely to the foster parent and Arizona Luxury Pomskies will be released from any and all financial obligations.

REASONS FOR CONTRACT TERMINATION with DOG

  1. Chronic illness of the dog
  2. Improper socialization with humans
  3. Dog bites or shows aggression
  4. Unwillingness to be collected
  5. Hostility between dogs (biting, aggression, etc.)
  6. If we have to pull a dog out of the host/caregiver contract for any reason due to any of the above or unforeseen problems or issues that arise between Arizona Luxury Pomskies and the host/caregiver for that dog or any dogs, then the contract is void.

REASONS FOR CONTRACT TERMINATION with HOST

  1. Improper care of dog
  2. Improper health of dog
  3. Malnutrition
  4. Cleanliness of facilities
  5. Chronic illness due to neglect
  6. Chronic injury due to neglect
  7. Not abiding by above contract
  8. Unharmonious relationship between host/Portland Pomskies
  9. Any signs of aggression or abuse with dogs
  10. Impregnation by any dog other than an Arizona Luxury Pomskies stud (host will be liable for all expenses relating to this)
